Urban Ministries of Durham provides 171 beds divided among men, women and children, with 25 overflow mats. Sign ups are between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm on Mondays. Offers five (5) Journey Programs for shelter clients with particular needs, including families, veterans, clients seeking help with recovery from drug and alcohol abuse, clients who are working, and clients with disabilities. Durham County residents may receive groceries and clothing once in a 30-day period from Food Pantry and Clothing Closet. Hours of service are Monday-Thursday from 9:00 am-11:00 a.m. Community Café serves three meals a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year to shelter residents and anyone else in need of a meal.
