First In Families of North Carolina (FIFNC) is a state-wide not-for-profit supporting individuals with Developmental Disabilities and/or Traumatic Brain Injuries and their families. FIFNC helps people with disabilities and their families to believe in their dreams, achieve their goals and give back to others. Durham First In Families (DFIF) is one of the local chapters of FIFNC, which covers Durham County. FIFNC currently has 13 chapters across the state of North Carolina that cover 45 counties. FIFNC also offers assistance to families outside of the 45 counties through the Lifeline Project. FIF partners with local communities and businesses to respond to requests from individuals and families with Developmental Disabilities and/or Traumatic Brain Injuries.
