County required program that pays for either opening or closing of a grave for indigent families or for cremation. In addition, the County through state statute is responsible for the final remains of an unclaimed body. The County will pay for cremation ONLY under those circumstances. The worker must evaluate whether there are resources that can be used other than County funds. These include insurance, savings, property or other estate resources.
