City of Durham - Youth-Work Program

The Durham Youth-Work Program offers Durham youth ages 14-24 the opportunity to gain work experience and develop skills through paid summer positions in local businesses, nonprofits and City and County government. Participants typically work 30 hours a week for six to eight weeks in the summer. Recruitment begins the second week of February each year. Visit the website to view summer job listings and apply. Applicants are placed based on a variety of criteria including applicants’ interests, strength of interview, fit for the position and requirements of funding sources. Applicants are not placed on a first-come, first-served basis.
