BRIEF: Two Bibb child care providers chosen for grant

July 22--Two Middle Georgia child care providers have been awarded expansion grants from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs and Department of Early Care and Learning.

In a third round of grants, totaling more than $280,000, the Macon-Bibb County Economic Opportunity Council and Sandy's Sandbox, both in Bibb County, were recognized along with Children's Destiny Christian Academy in Lowndes County and Schoolzin Schoolzout Christian Learning Center in Catoosa County. The grants are intended for programs seeking to expand or open new services for "infants and toddlers with high needs," according to a news release.

The release also states that Macon-Bibb EOC will receive $87,626 to serve 34 additional children in a larger facility. Sandy's Sandbox will receive $48,753 to support 12 new children.
