FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
?Connections of a dead man?

The Theatre Department of Durham School of the Arts is presenting the first ever High School Production of Dead Man?s Cell Phone. Written by Sarah Ruhl? known for her playwright, Eurydice? Dead Man?s Cell Phone seeks to explore human connection by contrasting technology with physical touch. How and when do we feel an honest, true human connection? Is it through how many followers we have on social media? Is it through the texts and phone calls we receive from our friends in the middle of the night? Is it through the ability to touch someone physically, or have an open conversation with another through eye contact? This play explores all of those questions. Combining elements from the famous artist Edward Hopper?s paintings with a noir aesthetic, Dead Man?s Cell Phone examines the distance caused by technology as well as the connections it can bring.
